1. targetting.
have to choose between auto target and manual.
auto is nice to a degree...only problem is...when fighting two mobs at once...one tank on me...and one caster away from me, i switch to the caster...and it (seems to) switch me back to the tank
manual solves that...only i have to click on mobs like 3or4 times to get a target. this isnt like me on bard at spd 6 trying to click target a skald at spd6 at range either.... this is me stationary...and the mob stationary. like a five year old moving the mouse as deliberately and slowing as possible. neither the name above....nor the body of the mob..produces reliably targetting. annoying now....but will be headbanging at later levels when things count more.
2. aoe or not so i'm not exactly sure if these tos and pom spells are aoe or what. two mobs standing right next each other. after targetting one monb and casting the spell... all of these have happened:
a.one mob damaged and comes...other just sits there b.one mob damaged, none to other...both come c.both mob damaged and both come
so the issue/observation is that the spell being aoe or not must have a roll...and then when you win/lose that roll (depending on if you actually wanted the whole camp coming =p) the damage to other mobs has a high variance.
variance i can deal with....but never knowing if your spell is gonna be aoe or not...is frustrating from the point of a soloer trying to make decisions about what to pull.

I don't have the issues with targeting that you have. Make sure auto face is off because I've discovered auto targeting will target whomever you're facing the longest.
Can't speak to the second issue.

i've had the same problems with targeting. it's a bitch. sometimes i can't target until they're right on top of me.
as for the second thing, i've been trying to figure out that as well. it's my opinion that sometimes mobs baf <shrug>

if you're a ToS you should just grind in instances; you can set up unlimited totems and once you get 30 i think you get the ability that makes each friendly unit enhance the others, and totems count for that.

if only i knew what totems are....
and these stupid quests are getting me bored.
just tell me how, exactly, to level quickly... like which feat lines...and spell tactics etc.
i'm lazy. hook a brother up.

Thog, didn't the last patch disable the ToS exploit?
Yeah, and questing is boring, which makes me long for the more group oriented games.

..... Yeah, and questing is boring, which makes me long for the more group oriented games. i'd like to grp in this game....but so far people are kinda rude. very few responses to tells (maybe they dont see them?). people seem happy to grp with their guilds only....and dont seem to want to grp with randoms. in daoc you had the equivalent of countries...(alb/hib/mid)... and so, for better or worse, you had a countrymen type of feel in the realm. this game seems to have more of a 'every man/guild for them- selves' feel. perhaps because we will all be competing against one another at some point ?

I think a big part is that it's just not needed sub-40, grouping that is. Faster xp solo questing.

Quest XP and Gring exp are fiarly close after about level 30. It just seams like questing is more entertaining right now.

anyone figured out targeting yet? it's seriously driving me nuts. it's especially bad if i'm trying to snag a specific target through other players or mobs (or both)...

turn off autotargeting and autofacing. I still use tab to get the nearest target main 45+ you pretty much have to group as you run out of quests that are soloable or give enough XP to get to the next lvl. the pyrmid in khobshef province is bugged; you can't kill the final boss or something. 51 atm 150 kills 50 deaths 38 of which were inflicted so i could teleport ^_^

turn off autotargeting and autofacing. I still use tab to get the nearest target main the first settings i changed was turning off autotarget and autoface, before even logging into the game anyway, i've resorted to using tab almost all the time, and just cycling through targets. click-targeting sucks donkey balls in this game
