So a doctor had this posted at his office: Bear in mind that doctors take the Hippocratic Oath. Is there room in a Dr's office for politics? Discuss!

WOW somebody is pissed off... and stupid. Why would you want to alienate 40% of your potential customers, any Dem who see's that will seek help elsewhere for sure, and I would as an independent just because the guy makes himself seam like an idiot right off the back.

WOW somebody is pissed off... and stupid. My thoughts exactly. This guy has horrible business sense. I'm sure everyone is well aware of where I stand on the new healthcare legislation, but even I think this looks like a tantrum. In any case, it seems like there would be a better way for him to protest. Oh and the obligatory: ;D

Tantrum? Yes. Dumb? Maybe not. Just from what I've heard, a big part of the reason healthcare is so expensive is because of medicare, and how rediculously difficult it is to get the gov't to pay up. So, it's not really THAT dumb, if he wants to segregate his patients so that he's only seeing those with which he will actually get paid for treating.

Just from what I've heard, a big part of the reason healthcare is so expensive is because of medicare, and how rediculously difficult it is to get the gov't to pay up. From what I understand, the reimbursement rate is lower for medicare as well, something like 50c on the dollar. I still stand by his sign being stupid tho, imo he looks like an immature asshole. If he had instead placed a sign stating he was no longer accepting medicare/medicaid patients then I could respect that. Not to get into a political debate here, but mandated insurance isn't the way to go imo. The cash price of services vs the amt insurance pays is ungodly. I checked the cash price of a procedure I had done last summer because I wasn't sure insurance would cover it... it was 3k cash... but insurance covered it and when I got my statement, they had only paid $600 plus my copay of 30. In general, it seems that when u pay cash, things are usually cheaper.. but in this case it would have cost 5x more. imo the way insurance is looked at should be different. when u buy car insurance, it doesn't pay for oil changes and brake pads... so why should health insurance pay for checkups and the like? With everyone paying their own way on basic healthcare and having catastrophic insurance, also adding in a bit of tort reform and I believe we would be better off. Furthermore, it's never appropriate to steal from your neighbor, yet every time someone gets a handout from the gov't it is morally the same as stealing. The gov't doesn't generate its own money, it all comes from us. (yes this includes foreign loans, who do you think has to pay them back? yep, the people) Yet, we're so far from the guidelines of the constitution, we may as well be the USSA. I don't just say that because of Obama either, its been going downhill for decades, since way before I was ever born. Save the shit about the police/fire dept being socialized too, we are all covered by their services. However, not everyone gets section 8, food stamps and the like tho. Don't even think about calling me a rush/beck head or tea bagger either. Rush talks like he's a f**king idiot and Beck isn't as conservative as he thinks he is (and his rant on convicted felons doesn't agree with me at all, if an ex convict can't be trusted after their supposed rehabilitation, then he/she should have been f**king executed. Also, how many people would be considered felons had they only been caught?). I can't be a tea bagger because I'm not on medicare and Palin talks like she's an idiot too. And I'm not a conspiracy theorist because I like Paul, he just follows the constitution more closely than any other politician I've seen. I'm not trying to bash people who receive or have received benefits from the gov't either, but people should know that they weren't meant to be a slave to their gov't, which everyone is whether they're the ones paying or they're the ones dependent on the benefits. wow, ok /rant off lol I could go on all day about this ;D

While alot of people who voted for Obama would generally fall into the economic bracket that would not be able to pay the majority of Democrats are not poor ass broke people, and if you think they are then your as big of a dumbass as this guy. You can protest in whatever way you want but there is no defending that this sign was emational outburst which has no place in business IMO. Not enough Logic behind the sign to be allowed to mess with your business. Unless ofcource he doesn;t need the money anymore and was just looking for a way to cut his patient load before he retires. Then its a good idea.
